Dressing your produce for market may seem secondary to the taste and quality of your product but it is important to remember that the first experience customers will have of your product is visual, feed the eyes and the belly will follow!
Creating tasty yet eye-catching focal points for your produce will increase your reputation as an artist not only in the kitchen but in the market. Try adding fresh flowers, trinkets, pretty plates and jars to your display to draw the moths to your flame!
It need not cost the earth! The chalkboard sign seen here  is a re-purposed mirror from a thrift store, painted, and coated with chalkboard paint  to create a fabulous piece that can be used over and over again. It would be easy find an unwanted picture or board to fill a frame, chalkboard paint is cheap and can be sourced in Ennis at places like Noel Cootes Paint on Kilrush road, or for an even cheaper but not as shiny version use black undercoat.
Individual fruit cups and mini chalkboard labels are added, and a pretty fabric backdrop and simple flowers are all that’s needed to complete the look.  Sometimes a very simple approach to styling can be the most attractive of all.
